I know a couple of people with property in France and Spain, who seem to spend every holiday there. I’ve only been abroad twice and went somewhere different each time.

Yes you can contact companys such as interval and they will find you a property of equal size wherever you want to go and then let your property to someone else
I’m planning to do both. Can’t speak for the whole mankind…
yes we have had a place in spain for 10 years ,sometimes we travel to a another place
Personally, I go elsewhere, and the only other person I know with property abroad also does.
Thinking more generally, people who live still live in one country but buy a property abroad tend to be older and wealthier.
As wealthier people generally, most of them are able to travel elsewhere and if they choose not to, there are at least two good reasons:
1) As wealthier older people, they may already have travelled extensively and are happy to go for the relaxed option and visit somewhere they know and have home comforts.
2) Many owners of foreign homes snapped them up as cheap bargains with lots of work to do. They go on holiday but also do a bit of DIY while they’re there. They avoid going on expensive ‘other’ holidays because they’d rather spend money doing up the foreign house.
My friend who purchased a Villa in Spain a few years ago pops over there from time to time but also make sure she has good holidays as well,
